Beat Thang

So, I happened to go to an old friend's house, Rebizzle, and right when I was leaving, I was like, "Is that what I think it is?" 

His room mate had a Beat Thang sittin' in the corner. Crazy. I've actually looked into these a lot and never thought this would be the way I found one, but sometimes the best things in life just happen like that. 

Hip hop fact: The beat for 50 Cent - Do You Think About Me was produced by Rockwilder on the Beat Thang in '09 before it was officially released in 2011.

Unfortunately, the Beat Thang didn't do well in the retail market and was quickly discontinued, but so far its a pretty good machine. Responsive pads, sampling is simple and chopping is easy too. A lot of good preset sounds (and a lot of bad ones...) Cool light up features and the coolest thing (or should I say thang) is the battery for portable beat making. Even if its just taking it from one room to the main studio I don't need to power it down. And I can produce on the go where no power is available.
